The Salón Náutico de Barcelona 2013

With sails hoisted and motors humming, it was time for a new edition of the “Salón Náutico Internacional de Barcelona” boat show between 24 and 29 September at the Port Vell in Barcelona. Under the same slogan as the previous show, around 650 vessels were exhibited and offered, 60 of which were completely new and being shown in Spain for the very first time. At total of 236 firms took part with their products among which were the most important national and international yacht manufacturers. “These companies have made a special effort to once again participate in the fair despite the country’s economic difficulties and those of the marine sector in particular”, said the president of the Salón Náutico de Barcelona, Luís Conde.

Boats and yachts of over 8 metres in length were exhibited in the water and other vessels and shipping products (such as electronics, motors, paint, fishing equipment and much more) could also be examined on land. Particularly striking this year were the new products on display, for example the Lagoon 52. This is a spectacular cruising catamaran with flybridge that has a glazed inner lounge from which one has a 360 degree panoramic view. Moreover, the sports cruiser Manhattan 55 from Sunseeker, with a length of 17 metres, deserves a special mention.

This year too, the already popular “Área Fun Beach” was created, a boat testing zone with access to the sea by means of which products on offer can be tried out on the spot. This year’s exhibition began on the 24 September, at the same time as the Festa de la Mercè -the patron of Barcelona- as well as the Mediterranean Tall Ships Regatta. The aim was to exploit the synergies between the offers and thus attract a more visitors.
